Reese’s Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare chocolate cake mix as directed on the box. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  3. Make the peanut butter filling:
    • In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Add melted butter and powdered sugar gradually. Mix until creamy and thick.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate cake batter. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl it into the cake (don’t overmix—it should look marbled).
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips (and any extras like Reese’s pieces or chunks) evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for about 35–40 minutes, or until the cake is mostly set but slightly gooey in the middle (like an “earthquake” effect!).
  7. Cool slightly before serving—best enjoyed warm or at room temp.
