🧄🧀 Lángos – Hungarian Fried Dough

Description:
Golden, deep-fried flatbread brushed with garlicky oil, then topped with sour cream and shredded cheese — sometimes even with ham, sausage, or veggies. A favorite at markets and festivals!


🍞 Ingredients: (Makes 6–8 Lángos)

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1¼ cups warm milk
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Extra oil for deep-frying

For the Garlic Oil:

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • Optional: a splash of water to dilute

Toppings (Optional but classic):

  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese (like mozzarella or mild cheddar)
  • Extra minced garlic or garlic salt
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
