🇭🇺 Hungarian Savoy Cabbage and Potato Stew (Kelkáposzta Főzelék)

  • 1 medium head Savoy cabbage, shredded
  • 500g (1 lb) waxy potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil or lard
  • 1 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (whole or crushed)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (for thickening)
  • 200ml (¾ cup) water or light vegetable broth
  • Optional: a splash of vinegar or a dollop of sour cream for acidity and creaminess
