
๐ฐ Dobos Torte โ Hungarian Layer Cake
๐ Ingredients:
For the sponge cake (6โ7 thin layers):
- 9 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, sifted
- Pinch of salt
For the chocolate buttercream:
- 7 oz (200g) dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, room temp
- 1 cup (125g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the caramel topping:
- ยพ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp lemon juice or butter (to prevent crystallization)
